At MUT, we believe in sustainability as a way of life. We aim to have a positive impact on people's lives, their surroundings and the wider community. We believe in a different way of doing things, which is why our vision of sustainability informs the way we fit into the city.
We're tackling vehicle emissions by discouraging car use and trying to deliver a better experience for people who travel by Metro, bike, or scooter, incentivizing the use of these clean forms of transport. We have our BiciHub, an exclusive parking area for bikes, scooters, and other forms of electromobility, and a direct connection to Tobalaba Metro station, one of the busiest in Santiago's public transit network.
Initiatives such as natural ventilation, natural lighting, and solar radiation control have yielded energy savings of 32% against the LEED standard and 66% against the Chilean standard. MUT's energy supply is 100% certified renewable and comes from wind and solar power together with geothermal energy and biogas generated on-site.

MUT's goal is for none of the more than 15 tons of waste produced each day to end up in landfills. Waste is recovered through reuse, recycling, and transformation. About 60% is recovered under agreements with specialist waste management companies, while MUT's organic waste, which is about 40% of the total, will be processed in an on-site biodigester to produce fertilizer and biogas.

Actualmente, el biodigestor de MUT tiene la capacidad para tratar 1 tonelada diaria de residuos orgánicos provenientes de los locales gastronómicos y el consumo del público general.

Como parte del plan de sostenibilidad, en este lugar se lavan mensualmente cerca de 700.000 utensilios, platos y vasos, evitando desechables que van a la basura o deben ser procesados en un centro de reciclaje.
The project calls for green areas to be irrigated with 100% recycled or reused water. This will reduce drinking water consumption by 1.8 million gallons a year and will be achieved by storing rainwater, capturing moisture from the air, and recycling graywater.
Biophilia is our innate connection with nature and its rhythms. At MUT, this has been reflected in the creation of spaces incorporating plants, natural materials, daylight, natural ventilation, open walkways, and meeting places. Nature is part of these places, and they invite every visitor to linger.
